Swadeshi Mandi-VocalForLocal
1/12Mandi Sir Revolution

On this Independence Day, Let us Come together and celebrate the Aatmanirbhar Mission of the government. In these VUCA times Countries, companies, people world over have come to realise the importance of being self-reliance and to disassociate themselves from the single supplier viz China. Our Prime Minister has raised the importance of Khadi, the revival of local art forms that were lost due to the colonial atrocities.

Make in India now need to become Aatmanibharta for Bharat. To be a provider of goods and services to the world rather than serving one.

Mandi Sir has taught us a life lesson to which I feel will guide us not just in the short term but during our whole life. These tough times have taught us to important lesson of not just being free in terms of freedom of mind but in our actions. Every MBA student must have faith in the concept of 1/12 Mandi Sir. In this Professor, T prasad has taught us to earn back at least 1 lakh from our MBA fees of 12 lakhs during our MBA.

Are you interested in knowing how?

We all are learning MBA from books but that is not what will help us succeed in our Jobs, We need speaking skills, convincing powers. We need to develop entrepreneurial skills not just to get better placements but to learn entrepreneurship to be success full in any field, to be a Job provider rather than Job Seeker in challenging times. Mandi is a place where we can develop our entrepreneurial skills. as a student.

By bringing the concept of being Vocal for Local in our Swadehi Mandi we are not just getting the people of the country closer to our Heritage. We are instilling the pride and honour for the craftsmen who have been working hard in keeping these rich traditions alive.

I come from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, THE HEART of INDIA. In MP, near Indore the Maheshwar town has the beautiful conception of the Maheshwari saree dating back to 18th century Madhya Pradesh. These sarees were first found and produced in the town of Maheshwar, hence the name. These sarees were initially made of pure Silk, but with the passage of time, Cotton was also one of the major fabrics used for these exquisitely designed sarees.

The legend behind these sarees is of Queen Ahilyabai Holkar who ordered various craftsman and artisans from Malwa and Surat to design a special saree with 9 yards, which later came to be known as the Maheshwari saree. These sarees were supposed to be a special gift for the royal relatives and guests who visited the palace.

It was the queen herself who designed the first saree. Following this, Maheshwari sarees became extremely popular in and around Madhya Pradesh.

With the help of Maha Mandi event which is going virtual due to COVID pandemic, has thrown an opportunity for us to try, learn and ace digital marketing first hand practically.

Prof. T Prasad the real-life inspiration of Mandi concept, has instilled the spirit of entrepreneurship in the students in his prestigious work as a mentor. Last year under his guidance Crop Wheel came to become an entrepreneurial marvel not just for the NITIE student but for farmers who could not sell Mangoes due to COVID in the market.

Prof Prasad was ahead of his time and has been promoting the idea of the spirit of entrepreneurialism from among student from more than last 15 years. In the process, he is developing not just managers of the future but leaders of the future.

Now I would like to end by calling everyone to support our Local Businesses-.

Be VocalForLocal by having our Focal on Local.

Socho Socho Seekho
Becho Bech Bech ke Seekho!

Local Khareedna hai Aur local Bechna Hai
Make In India But Make For the world
