Swadeshi Mandi keynote by Mr Abhay Jere

 Swadeshi Mandi

On the occasion of 74th Independence Day of the nation, Mandi Interest Group of NITIE  organised its Virtual Annual Flagship event- ' Swadeshi Mandi 2020' on the 15th of August 2020.

On this auspicious occasion  Mr Abhay Jere, Cheif innovation officer, AICTE  was incited as chief guest and the guest of honour was Mrs.Apeksha Haldia, Founder, Zyka ka tadka & a NITIE alumna.

This was part of annual trademark field-based events-'Mahamandi'  to promote business acumen enterprise development and help develop customer insights and sales techniques among the students. This year it was 16th edition of Mahamandi and first to be in completely online mode.

Mr Abhay Jere, CIO, AICTE told us about the importance of innovation in India. He gave the example of global innovation index in which India has moved significantly from 79 in 2014 to 52nd rank. So we have made significant improvements in ranking but we still have a long way to go. Since we want to be better than China who sits at 12 in the innovation rankings we need the VOCAL FOR LOCAL, AATMANIRBHAR INDIA. India needs Job creators, not Job seekers.

Dr. Jere informed us about  Student’s Startup policy, which will now allow students to start their own start-ups while studying

We need to Initiative like MAHA MANDI, to generate the spirit of entrepreneurship.

Prof. T. Prasad is ahead of the curve and has been organising and inculcating the spirit of entrepreneurship among the students since last 15 years through Initiatives like Maha mandi, Swadeshi Mandi, Mandi Interest group of NITIE.

Under his guidance, many students have gound their entrepreneur spirit and have succeded in the real world. Initiatives like Crop wheel, Matrix and our guest speaker Ms Apeksha Haldia are living proof of this.

Mr Abhay Jere talked about the positive news for the entrepreneurial of today. He told us that companies are looking to invest in India. He told that in 9 months that is from January 2019 to September 2019 7.4 billion Rupees was invested in Indian startups by FDI.

As Prasad sir has taught us we need to be entrepreneurial to succeed in our life.

Socho  Seekho Becho
Bech Bech Ke Sekho!

I would like to end with  what sir has taught in class by example of MBA chai wala :

Bada Socho,
Chhota Shuru karo,
Abhi Karo,
